What kind of band gets used in a CNN story about domestic terrorism?
THEY LIVE is the kind of band. Springing forth from the icy abyss that is Minneapolis, THEY LIVE plays a unique style of dark, metal-tinged punk rock they refer to as “Death Punk”.
Their stylistically diverse and unrelenting sound has been described as “The Ramones meets The Cure”, “The Smiths meets Venom” and has been compared to TSOL’s “Change Today” album. Key influences include Samhain, The Murder City Devils, Black Flag, Metallica and early Blood Brothers.
They have been working hard these past few years making their mark across the country. They’ve shared the stage with artists such as THE MISFITS, AGENT ORANGE, and CALABRESE and have toured nationally promoting their past three EP releases (“No Escape”,”Time to Go” and “Wolf Attack”) which they have completely sold out of.
THEY LIVE is currently touring to promote their debut full-length album “The Satanic Verses”. Darker than previous releases “The Satanic Verses” has been called “a goth-hardcore masterpiece” and “desperate hardcore that really sounds as if the earth will end soon”. They will be re-releasing their “Time To Go” EP this spring and they are currently recording demos for their next album set to be released this fall through Drink Blood Records.
THEY LIVE believes that in this current dark age that we live in, their prophetic transmissions need to be disseminated far and wide and they will stop at nothing to achieve that end.
